The Leadership Development Fellowship by Teach For Vietnam is a globally recognized leadership program in two years to develop a pipeline of leaders from diverse backgrounds for building an ecosystem for education equity and excellence.

AS TEACHER-LEADER,

YOU WILL CREATE COLLECTIVE IMPACT

Fellows work as official English teachers in primary/ lower secondary schools to empower students in the classroom with excellent English, essential soft skills (critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, etc.) and growth-mindset, create synergy with local teachers/ principals for school-level impacts and lead community development projects to bring positive changes and profound impacts. OUR ASSESSMENT PARTNER – BRITISH COUNCIL

British Council will become our Assessment Partner to evaluate your English capabilities. If you don’t have IELTS or TOEFL certificate by the deadline 15/4, you will be required to take a 3-hour test – Aptis, organized by British Council. Teach For Vietnam will sponsor from 50% to 100% test fee. Test time will be confirmed for those candidates who pass the Application round (exception will be considered case by case). Please read more details below.

☑️ What is Aptis?
Aptis is an English language proficiency test. It provides reliable, accurate results about the English skills of participants. Aptis Advanced tests language competency for levels of English from CEFR level B1 to C2.

☑️ Do I need to pay for the Aptis test fee?
Teach For Vietnam will sponsor from 50% to 100% of the test fees with regard to candidates’ needs and personal situations. We will make sure that potential candidates are fully supported.

YOUR LEADERSHIP JOURNEY

June - July, 2018

Summer Institute

SI is a 6-8 week full-time training to prepare fellows as a successful leader in classroom, school and community. Fellows will have the opportunity to teach in classrooms with local students in summer.

August 2018 - May 2020

Fellows are offically on board

June 2020

Alumni are in action with the life-long commitment to support education equity and excellence

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Leadership Development Fellows will become official English teachers to teach full-time in primary, lower secondary schools in Tây Ninh province.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Vietnamese Citizen
  • Fluent English (preferable: IELTS from 7.0, TOEFL from 90, or equivalent. Fellows will need to submit English certificate by June 2018, except for ones studied full-time in English speaking countries for at least 1 year)
  • Bachelor Degree in ANY major or proof of completing it by August 2018
  • Minimum GPA: 2.5/4, or 7.0/10
  • Strong communication skill
  • A commitment to Teach For Vietnam’s Vision and Mission, and alignment with our Core Values

WHAT KIND OF SUPPORT WILL FELLOWS

RECEIVE?

ACCREDITATION TO BECOME QUALIFED TEACHERS

TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) – A Cambridge English Certificate

TKT is an alternative pathway to teaching that Fellows need to achieve within the first year of the Fellowship Program. Trainings and fee for taking the test are fully supported by Teach For Vietnam.

What is TKT?

TKT is a flexible series of modular teaching qualifications, which test participants’ knowledge in specific areas of English language teaching. Fellows will receive a Cambridge English certificate for each module they complete. TKT is ideal for people who want to prove their teaching knowledge with a globally recognised certificate.
