On the morning of May 23, 2024, through the support of Teach For Viet Nam, a delegation of professor and students from Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania – Bloomsburg, United States visited and exchanged with students at Phuoc Tan 1 Secondary School, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai province.

The cultural exchange program was attended by Mrs. Tran Le Dung – Specialist of Bien Hoa Department of Education and Training; Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dang Lam – Chair of Department of Management and Co-Director of Global Business Institute, Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania – Bloomsburg; Mrs. Vo Thi Bich Thuy – Principal of Phuoc Tan 1 Secondary School, Mr. Phan Bui Trong – Vice Principal, Mr. Truong Dinh Tuyen – Vice Principal; Mrs. Nguyen Vo Truc Giang, Director of Development of Teach For Viet Nam. In particular, there were 13 students from Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania – Bloomsburg and more than 300 excellent students from Phuoc Tan 1 Secondary School.

At the beginning of the cultural exchange program, Mr. Phan Bui Trong, representing Phuoc Tan 1 Secondary School, introduced Phuoc Tan 1 Secondary School with the results achieved during its 26 years of formation and development. Mrs. Vo Thi Bich Thuy also expressed her joy when the school welcomed a delegation of professor and students from Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania – Bloomsburg to visit and interact with teachers and students of the school. After that, there were bilingual musical performances and the exchange of thank you gifts between Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania – Bloomsburg and Phuoc Tan 1 Secondary School.

In the next part, the delegation of professor and students of Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania – Bloomsburg along with 300 students were divided into groups and moved to 7 classrooms of Phuoc Tan 1 Secondary School. In a vibrant and friendly atmosphere, the school’s students had the opportunity to exchange directly with international students. This is a valuable opportunity for them to learn about American people and culture, while at the same time improving and practicing the English they have studied at school in recent times.

Also within the framework of the cultural exchange program, Professor and Dr. Nguyen Dang Lam, representing Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania – Bloomsburg, introduced the school and the orientation of education and learning in the US. At the same time, he sent his deep thanks to the warm welcome of the school, teachers, and students of Phuoc Tan 1 Secondary School. Through the cultural exchange program, international students of Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania – Bloomsburg expressed their love for the people and country of Vietnam. They promise that if they have the opportunity, they will continue to come back here to participate in more exchange programs.
