Position summary

The Alumni and Development Officer (ADO) will work with two important verticals within Teach For Vietnam: Development and Alumni. These verticals are entrusted with the following responsibilities:

  • Building a funding base for Teach For Vietnam in new region
  • Building a local movement of Teach For Vietnam’s alumni which fuels the national movement, and necessitates larger impact, thereby reaching all children

Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Officer include but are not limited to:

Donor research and management:

  • Identifying, researching and setting up meetings for some of these work streams: Corporates, Foundations, Individuals and Crowdfunding
  • Building presentations and proposals for various donor meetings
  • Maintain donor mailing lists and databases
  • Work with the Finance team to keep track of and ensure all reports are sent to donors in a complete and timely fashion
  • Work with the RSM team to create marketing collateral for various events and campaigns
  • Work with the Development team to ensure due process is followed in keeping all proposals and documentation up to date on the team site and CRM system

Alumni Movement: The associate will work with the Alumni Manager for the following:

  • Set strategy and goals for alumni programs (Mentorship Program, Pathway Accelerate support, Skill building workshops, coffee chats/career conversations)
  • Identify organizations to partner with for the Career Fair, based on the Teach For Vietnam’s Alumni vision
  • Identify and collaborate with external resource persons for conducting skill building workshops and clinics
  • Build relationships with Alumni in the city through interviews, organizing Alumni events and connecting Alumni for larger collective impact
  • Maintain database to track Alumni
  • Create opportunities for Alumni to contribute financially towards funding goals

Additional responsibilities:

  • Work with local media (newspapers, radio, TV etc.) to create opportunities for advocacy/awareness and engage the local people in the Teach For Vietnam’s movement
  • Create monthly newsletters to keep all external stakeholders engaged
  • Work with the RSM and Community team for assistance during recruitment campaigns, selection activities, conference and workshops.
